The 30th Art in the Arboretum, moved because of weather, runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 on Oleander Drive. More than 70 artists; $5, kids free.
Art in the Arboretum marks its 30th year on Halloween weekend. The show was moved from its original October date because of the threat of bad weather.
It now runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, and Sunday, Nov. 1, at the New Hanover County Arboretum, 6206 Oleander Drive, according to the county’s announcement.
What to know
- Artists: more than 70 artists and vendors across the gardens.
- Tickets: $5 at the gate.
- Free entry: children under 12, anyone with a current military ID and Friends of the Arboretum members.
- Parking: free, on site.
- For kids: a Children’s Corner, back for a second year, with a hands-on 4-H art activity. Temporary tattoos and fairy hair are also on offer.
Why it matters
The show is the main fundraiser for the Friends of the Arboretum, a nonprofit that supports the arboretum and N.C. Cooperative Extension. The two co-host the event, the county says.
The arboretum is a teaching garden. It focuses on plants suited to southeastern North Carolina and runs classes for residents, students and people who work in the green industry.
More details are on the Friends of the Arboretum event page.
