Valentine’s Day 2027 is Sunday, Feb. 14. We will add venues’ Valentine’s plans here as they post them. A Sunday Valentine’s means free street parking downtown all day and the gardens open, so the classic Wilmington date (a walk, then dinner by the river) is easy to plan now.

What ran last year

  • Valentine’s Day at The Underfront Co., Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, 8 p.m. to midnight: a Valentine’s edition of Fort Lowell Records’ LET’S DANCE vinyl DJ night on Front Street, with love songs across five decades; advance tickets or a $10 cover at the door, according to the 2026 ticket page. The 2027 date is not out yet.

Date ideas from the official pages

A walk at Airlie Gardens. The garden at 300 Airlie Road is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., last entry 4:30 p.m. In January and February it closes on Mondays, so Sunday, Feb. 14, is open. Admission is $10, or $5 for New Hanover County residents with ID; advance tickets are recommended, according to Airlie’s visitor page. Pets are not allowed. Spring Bloom, with more than 60,000 tulips and 75,000 azaleas, starts March 1, according to the gardens’ events page.

The Riverwalk and dinner downtown. The Riverwalk runs along the Cape Fear River through downtown, lined with restaurants. Meters are free all day Sunday, and the Market Street (115 Market St.) and 2nd Street (114 N. Second St.) decks give the first hour free, the city’s parking page says. A show at Thalian Hall. The 1858 theater at 310 Chestnut St. posts its spring lineup on its events page; call the box office at 910-632-2285.

The Battleship. Battleship North Carolina, 1 Battleship Road, held a Battleship 101 day with volunteers opening normally closed spaces on Feb. 14, 2026, free with admission, according to its programs page. 2027 dates were not posted when we checked.
